Prayer: The conversation between Father and Child…

About prayer; I like to say… it’s like our heart beat. Necessary…..I don’t have to show everyone that my heart is working… if heart is working people would know it, do you know how? Yes, you are alive and healthy. Prayer is also like that… you can hear, if you listen closely. You can feel… if you submit yourself… but for others… they will know the way you act.. alive… healthy.

“Prayer is a conversation between Father and His child”.

Jesus taught that effective prayer must be:

1. Unselfish—not only for oneself.
2. Believing—based upon faith.
3. Sincere—honest of heart.
4. Intelligent—according to light.
5. Trustful—in submission to the Father’s all-wise will.(UB 144:3.17)

Some people don’t know how to begin this conversation. Some people talk but won’t listen. Some people listen but don’t hear. But an effective conversation needs both listening and talking. Prayer also needs both of these because when you tell your needs or desires or thanks you deserve to know what your own Father thinks about it or what is His message for you. Our Father loves to talk to us.

In the begining I didn’t know how to pray.. I just read psalm 23 then list my needs and would wind up my prayer with the Lord’s prayer. I am not saying this was a bad prayer. I know Father listened to my prayers with lots of love. But then He taught me that He likes a conversation. He was talking to me but I didn’t try to listen. Maybe He will give what we ask, sometimes He will say ‘wait’, sometimes He suggests ‘No it’s not for you, sometimes He may say ‘I would like to give you something better’… so if we don’t listen, how do we know what He is thinking?

Now my prayer is like… first, I remember the Creator, our Father in Heaven who gave His son for this world to bless us to know Him, Jesus, who came here, gave his own life for us, showed us how to live, and opened a bridge between the Father and us, then the Holy Spirit who blesses us to be with our Father in Heaven through Spirit guidance.

Then I submit myself to God… then to my family. Then I pray for our neighbours, for prayer requests etc… then ask Him help for guidance in my life, tell Him my needs but finally I will tell Him that, ‘it’s my will that your’s will be done through me’. I believe that this is the most important part in the prayer. I usually ask Him things, sometimes I get them… sometimes I don’t. If I compel Him for anything, I am sure He will give them to me because He is a loving Father but I don’t know what are its aftereffects… if I ask Him, does He like me to have this… He will check these things and if they are good for me, He will give them to me… otherwise not. Then I’m not disappointed because I know that’s how I pray.

When you pray go to your room or find a quite place, then…

1. Invite Father’s presence through reminding that how beautiful He is taking care of us today. Thanking Him for that.
2. Submit yourselves to Him.
3. Seeking help for our problems or asking things or telling Him our tensions or thanking Him. (body of our prayer)
4. Wait a few minutes to get a response… maybe you will feel a specific part from your book to read, or a verse comes to your mind or a word from the book… if you don’t get anything like that take your book in your hand and tell him ‘Father, I am your child, please talk to me through this part’.. then open the book.. read the page 100% sure you will get answer for your prayer. I am doing this for the last 10 years.
5. Thanking him
6. Lord’s prayer
7. Hallelujah. I love to say this word. I heard that Angels sing this word to Father all the time.

Also when I pray, I find a quite place. You can talk to your Father from anywhere… but we are humans, our mind don’t get that much concentration. So a quite place will be good. Remember, Jesus went to quite places frequently. Then pray on your knees and keep your book in your hand. Close your eyes… begin your prayer.

Prayer is like pouring out your heart to your Father in heaven. Father is always listening to your heart. When you cry He is in pain because You are His beloved child. We have to understand His love for us first… it will help to heal our pain faster. The world will forsake you, your own mother will forsake you… but He… our Father in Heaven will never forsake you. He will be with us forever. Keep this like a cornerstone of your faith. And talk to Him every day. Be close to him. The basic fact of every relationship is ‘conversation’… Talk to Him… Listen to Him… and Follow Him… and His teachings.

Bread of my life…

John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst”.

Bread of Life

Jesus… the bread of my life, the water of my life, my shelter, my love, my comforter… I think we could find hundreds of synonym for this one name ‘JESUS’. My life, since 2006… is a testimony. I experienced His love and care in every branch of my life… physically, mentally and spiritually I tasted His love and care. It is available for everybody… it’s a free GIFT.

Today I would like to share one of my testimonies.

My sister was studying in a Polytechnic college. She had a lot of friends. Sometimes she called me and told me that, akka [that’s how she calls me ], we are coming. Then I ran to a nearby store to buy some food. At that day my mother and I were watching a movie… she called me at 3pm and told me that, ‘we are coming’!

Yes, my friends are coming with me. Before I said anything she said; bus is coming. Bye.
Oh My God!… what we do now. I looked at my mother… we were just talking about our empty purses. Mother was angry because she doesn’t know what to do now. Here, honor the guest is a very important thing… with food and smiling face. I said, I am going to pray, Jesus will help me. She looked at me. I understood the meaning of that look… but I have strong faith in my Father so I went to my room and closed the door. I opened Deuteronomy 28:5. I used to read Deuteronomy 28:1-14 every morning. So I remember all those verse. I read verse 5. It says; “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl”. I put my hands of the Bible and prayed to Him. Father, they are coming, we don’t have anything here. You told us that you will bless our kneading bowl. Please help me.”…. While I was finishing my prayer, I heard someone calling my name in our front yard. I finished my prayer and opened the door. That was Mrs. Laly, my neighbor and a minister. She said; Angel, we are going to Chennai. It was an immediate decision so please keep this dosa dough. It won’t last until we come back. I will collect the bowl when I am back.
I was shocked… then smiled… then laughed. I told her about my prayer. Together we praised His name. When they came I prepared Dosai for them and they really liked it.
See how He was the bread of my life on that day.

Let’s see three more beautiful occasions here…

Feeding the 5000…

Bread of Life

Matthew 14:13-21/ UB: 152.2

He withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
“Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Feeding the 4000…

Bread of Life

Matthew 15:29-39

Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way”.
His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”
“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.

Elisha feeds the 100…

2 Kings 4:42-44

A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God [Elisha] twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.
“How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked.
But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the LORDsays: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’” Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.

I remember this verse… Jesus told us…

John 14:12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

See how Father blessed Elisha and these men…

Believe… you shall the glory of the Father.

God is NOT a Destroyer…

I know a minister… she is very close to me and I am writing this because of her… for her and for everyone. She is a very good minister. But she still has some of the Old Testament period ideas about our Heavenly Father. She knows that He is love and He is our Father; still she used to say, ‘if you don’t follow the right path, God will destroy you’.

So I want to tell her that, God is not a destroyer, He is a preserver. He creates, preserves his creation and then when the time comes, He embraces us in His arms.

In Old Testament times I think people believed that the Father would be angry if we did something bad. And we heard that the Father destroyed this people, they died because God killed them, like that. When I hear this, I think like this; would any parent kill their own son/daughter for his mistake? Do we curse them? No we don’t. Then how come sometimes we think God will punish us or that this is His punishment for my wrong doing or mistakes. Jesus came to tell us something NEW about God, that he is a God of fatherly love. This revelation replaces the Old Testament idea about God

God never punishes anybody because He loves us more than our parents love us. The punishment is a reflection of our own choices, it’s not from the Father. Our Father never interferes in our personal choices, if He did, then this world will be like heaven. He gave us the freedom to choose. Then He gave us the guidance for ‘how to make your choices’ through Jesus. That’s why Jesus said; ‘seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well’ (Matthew 6:33). If we give the first importance to God, we will not make a wrong choice because He will guide us. Life with Jesus is based on love and peace. With love and peace it’s easy to achieve patience. Love and patience are the two main pillars of life. If we love each other, we will respect and trust each other. If we have patience, we will wait for the right choice.

The parable of the prodigal son is the best example of the Father’s love for us. Whatever we did in the past… if we are repenting and seeking His comfort, He will be there for us.

In the Psalms we will read God destroyed my enemies. When I think about this, I understand two things from there:
• David’s humbleness in front of God.
• For all who draw the sword will die by the sword. (Matthew 26:52)

David prayed for God to help him save his people. It’s a king’s duty to save his people from the enemy’s hand. Each time he won the war he gave praises to Father. I don’t think the Father killed some children to save some others. The enemies died because of their wrong choice. Our Father loves Jews and gentiles the same way. It’s about how we look at things. If you look at a star in the sky, it’s like a small dot. If you go to space and look at the same star, probably it is bigger than our earth.

Our Father promised us that even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. (Isaiah 46:4)

So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:7

The Bible is the basement of my spiritual life, but when I read The Urantia Book, I clearly get the answer to this question. I got the crystal clear picture of our Father in Heaven… the loving, kind, amazing Father. Jesus revealed Him clearly.

The woman and the Robe.

The woman who was suffering from bleeding for 12 years was healed by one touch. This story always touches my heart. A courageous-strong woman who came out in public and received healing. We are talking about her after 2015 years. Jesus wants us to know about her… this woman was a good example of all of the women at that time. Through this… He was showing everyone that, woman and man are the same in the eyes of God and no one is unclean because of their disease or physical conditions. Our Father never looks at our physical body… He always looks at our heart. So this woman is an example of the people who look at our physical life for judgment…

Jesus healed a bleeding woman; one of the important miracles in the Bible. Mark 5:21–43, Matthew 9:18–26, Luke 8:40–56, Urantia Book 152:0.2 (P 1698:2) explaining this beautifully.

“And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

I have read this many times, but sometimes, I never go deep… yes, Jesus healed a woman, that’s all. Today, I think it has several meanings in it…. Yeah, His life was a treasure, not only for the past but also for the present and for the future. After his death, 2015 years ago… still we are talking and reading about this woman. Of course, Father wants to tell us some important messages through this woman.

• No one is unclean.
• Men and women are equal in the eyes of God.
• Believe, you shall be saved
• Share your testimony.

Before we think about this, I would like to share some information about her condition.

The woman’s condition, which is not clear in terms of a modern medical diagnosis, is translated as an “issue of blood” in the King James Version and a “flux of blood” in the Wycliffe Bible and some other versions. In scholarly language she is often referred to by the original New Testament Greek term as the haemorrhoissa.
Because of the continual bleeding, the woman would have been continually regarded in Jewish law as a niddah or menstruating woman, and so ceremonially unclean. In order to be regarded as clean, the flow of blood would need to stop for at least 7 days. Because of the constant bleeding, this woman lived in a continual state of uncleanness which would have brought upon her social and religious isolation.

Still this custom is followed in many places around world. Women are not allowed in the Hindu Temples these days. Most old Hindu families, especially in some castes, the woman will be in a special room in these days. They wash everything after this 7 days. Sabarimala is a famous temple in southern India. Here, females who menstruate (usually between the ages of 12 and 50) are not allowed to enter the temple. If any man in the family goes to the temple, they need 41 days vrata [no alcohol, and tobacco, engaging in sex, using foul language, hair-cut, shaving and even trimming the nails. They are expected to bathe twice in a day and visit the local temples regularly and only wear plain black or blue colored traditional clothing.] At that time, woman must go to any relative’s house or they have to take pills for not having their period at this time. Even in Christianity, some people don’t go to churches at this time. We have some churches here that prohibit women in ‘that’ time, not a written law… but that’s what they follow. I respect all religions… I am not blaming their customs. But I would like to say one thing…. There is only one God… He created men and women this way. So no one is unclean…

We all know, Jesus already knew what’s going to happen there, who touched Him, but still He asked the people “who touched me?” because He wanted to show to everyone that, men and woman are equal in the eyes of God. Because of our physical conditions, or disease, or status… humans may tell us ‘you are not clean’, but Father, He is not looking at our body… He looks at our heart. That’s the place where we decide whether this one is clean or unclean not the body. I hope one day all religions accept this and stop the discrimination in God’s matters because of anyone’s physical condition. Still some religions don’t let their women enter into their holy places.

I love this woman’s courageous faith. She knew that she is considered as unclean. But she believes in Jesus and Father in Heaven. She had the courage to come out and reach Him in the middle of these people and touched Him with a wholehearted faith.

I don’t know what was the reaction from the crowd after they heard about her testimony. But I am sure each and every woman once again realized their place in the Kingdom of Heaven. In Indian culture, every religion gives second place for woman in all religious affairs. People believe that even God wants to treat women like this. Jesus knew what had happened there and He encouraged this woman to share her testimony, so that others will hear and grow more spiritually and understand the Kingdom of Heaven.

Testimony always helps one’s faith. Today, I would like to share my testimony here. I was suffering from Nocturnal enuresis [night-time incontinence is an inability to control urination during sleep, often referring to people who are old enough to be able to exercise urinary control. It is a common childhood condition, especially among young children] this is common in young children. But I was suffering from this 19 years. Can you imagine that? I didn’t drink water after 6pm. Before going to bed, I think I usually went to the toilet maybe 5 or 6 times. Still it happened during sleep. When you read this, probably you are laughing… but this is a heartbreaking problem for a teenager. Each morning I woke up with shame, pain, tears… I don’t know how to explain this.

When I received Jesus in my heart… the moment I knew, it’s not me, He chose me… I prayed to Him to cure this problem. I know, only He can help me. I started my prayers… soon I felt His healing love in my body and spirit. Now I can drink water as much as I want and I don’t fear staying over anywhere.

I am glad to share this testimony here. If you believe, you will find the answer because He knows about you more than you know yourself. He loves you no matter what. Have faith in Him. Pure faith can move big mountains of problems. Do not ever be worried about our physical life in this world to approach our Father because He doesn’t care if you are a man or woman, black or white, rich or poor… You are His child. That’s all that matters here.

As Jesus went along with Jairus, the large crowd which had heard the father’s request followed on to see what would happen. Shortly before they reached the ruler’s house, as they hastened through a narrow street and as the throng jostled him, Jesus suddenly stopped, exclaiming, “Someone touched me.” And when those who were near him denied that they had touched him, Peter spoke up: “Master, you can see that this crowd presses you, threatening to crush us, and yet you say `someone has touched me.’ What do you mean?” Then Jesus said: “I asked who touched me, for I perceived that living energy had gone forth from me.” As Jesus looked about him, his eyes fell upon a near-by woman, who, coming forward, knelt at his feet and said: “For years I have been afflicted with a scourging hemorrhage. I have suffered many things from many physicians; I have spent all my substance, but none could cure me. Then I heard of you, and I thought if I may but touch the hem of his garment, I shall certainly be made whole. And so I pressed forward with the crowd as it moved along until, standing near you, Master, I touched the border of your garment, and I was made whole; I know that I have been healed of my affliction.”         (P 1698:2, 152:0.2)

The Wisdom…

Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon, son of David. According to the Jewish tradition King Solomon wrote three books in the Bible; Proverbs, Songs of Songs and Ecclesiastes.

In the beginning of my spiritual life, when I read Ecclesiastes, I didn’t understand a word from there because I read it with my own mind and tried to find the meanings from my own understanding. The word of God is a gift but it is wrapped up with the Spirit of God, He is your guide here. If you want to understand it’s divine meaning you need to open this wrap and let the spirit guide you, otherwise it will be a book, just a book.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5)

Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are each one of my favorite books in the Bible. They are both very poetic and relate to our daily lives. They are an advice and a guidance for our life.

Solomon was blessed with wisdom. It was a gift from God. When Father asked him what he wanted, he didn’t ask for soldiers or wealth or long life. He asked for the wisdom to lead the Father’s people on earth. He had been given a duty and he wanted to fulfill his duty by all means.

And Solomon said to God: “You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in his place. Now, O LORD God, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.” (2 Chronicles 1:8-12)

Here I remember what Jesus taught us: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33)

Ecclesiastes is a book of wisdom. Our life is short so use our time wisely to make our soul a better one for the Kingdom of Heaven. We are lucky to be here in this flock with Jesus. Today, we know we are on the right side, now it’s our turn to grow more and more spiritually and share this light with our brethren who are still out there. Be the light, so your brother will come to you and will find the flock.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 4:6)

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

Do not let your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the temple messenger, “My vow was a mistake.” Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? (Ecclesiastes 5:6)

A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth. (Ecclesiastes 7:1)

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. (Ecclesiastes 7:8)

Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Wisdom makes one wise person more powerful than ten rulers in a city. (Ecclesiastes 7:10)

Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him. (Ecclesiastes 8:12)

As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. (Ecclesiastes 10:1)

You who are young, be happy while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless. (Ecclesiastes 11:9-10)

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them” before the sun and the light
and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; (Ecclesiastes 12:1-2)

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

Keep these words in your mind… The word of God is powerful.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Solving problems… with Jesus.

Father has given us a perfect life with free will. How do we use this free will to find the eternal path? It seems quite difficult and confusing but once we find the path, keep walking and listening to the Gospel we will find our eternal home.

Our life is tied up with many things on this world. How to keep balance is a big deal…. I think so. Family is one of them. In my part of the beautiful world, everything is based on family. Until you get married or a job in a different place, you can’t leave your family. I was born into a Hindu family with a great Hindu legacy. Both my parents have family temples and family deities. Anyway, we moved to a different state before I was born so I had a clear environment to know the Father. Still my papa follows his religious beliefs… but I dedicated my whole life for my Father in Heaven and I decided that my body is a temple of God and Father lives within me. So I do not bow down in front of any other man made statues of deities.

Families with different religious beliefs, different ideas… often create problems. I think all families have problems, small fight or arguments. Jesus told us that; love your enemies, respect your parents, peace and love….but whenever we try to solve something, it may hurt others because their ‘No’ must be our ‘Yes.’ Their ‘Yes’ must be our ‘No.’ How to solve our problems without hurting anyone? The answer is

“Cast your cares on the Father and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22”
`Put your trust in the Lord.’ `Be patient, wait upon the Lord and be of good courage. He shall strengthen your heart.’ `Cast your burden on the Lord, and he shall sustain you. Trust him at all times and pour out your heart to him, for God is your refuge.’ 152:5.3

Give your problems to Him and if you follow His will, He will take care of everything.

I would like to share one of my experiences with you today.

Like I said, marriage is the final destination for a woman in our culture [many people believe this way]. So a 29 year old unmarried woman is a big burden for family. People will ask your parents, why you don’t get her married? Why? When? Why? When? So one of my papa’s friends took him to an astrologer and asked him why? He said a lot of things about me. My wrong time of birth, birth curse, deity curse and my astrological star’s effect and finally he said, until I get married my family will suffer. So he suggested some virgin poojas [Poojas for getting married and get a good husband, virgin’s do some poojas] and some other sacrifices to Gods. So he wrote three full pages of pooja details.

Papa came home, He knows that I love Jesus, so he drank a lot and told all these stories to my mother. I was there. He knew that I was hearing all these curse things. My mother got angry and told my father to stop this. Papa got angry, and told my amma about these Poojas and he wanted me to go to some temples and do all those rituals and Poojas for a certain number of days. My amma well knew about my faith in Jesus and it’s depth. So she looked at me and, honestly, I was angry… but didn’t say anything. My face shows what I wanted to say. So amma came to my room and suddenly I said; I don’t do any of these Poojas. She went to papa and he kept reading it loudly and telling her to have faith in those deities.

For a moment, I feel like I am trapped. What do I do now? I can’t say No to him because I am scared of my papa. Then I closed my door and prayed to Father in Heaven on my knees. I told him that “Father, please help me, my parents are fighting, my papa wants me to do all those Poojas. But you know me, I don’t do these things but at the same time, I can’t say No to my papa. Father, please help me. Father, I don’t bow down in front of any other deities but don’t let others make me to do this. You know I am helpless here. But I know everything is possible with you. So please talk to my papa’s mind. Please don’t let me do this. I am yours, your daughter. Amen”. I felt comfortable… I went to my papa and amma. I told my mother that; it’s ok. I can deal with this. Papa called me and asked me to read all those things. I read the lists, curse parts and everything. Papa said, you want to do this. I said; Yes papa, tell me the date and time, I will be ready then.

Amma looked at me; I said, Father will talk to papa. If I say No, it will be a big problem, if Father talks to him, everything will be ok.

When you deal with problems, maybe you can solve the problem but even if, you get what you want, it will be painful. But if you let Father solve your problems, He knows you and, He will take care of everything without hurting anyone.

Papa put this paper on his table and went to sleep. I went to his room and put my hands on this paper and prayed to Father that, “Father, I don’t want to do these Poojas, please talk to my Father.”

Next day, again he told me, I asked him. When? He felt good with that answer. I kept praying for this and papa didn’t ask me anything after that day. He didn’t tell us anything about this pooja until this minute. Those papers were on His table for a week. Then they disappeared. I didn’t ask anyone, where they are or who has them now? I don’t want to know. I prayed, my Father heard that prayer and He talked to my papa for me.

I told Jesus that; ‘Father, you are love and peace. So there is no place for fight here. Help me”. He helped me and brings a proud smile on my face. I love that smile on my face.

So when you face any problem, go to your room, close the doors, pray to your Father in Heaven. Give your problems to Him and believe that He can do this for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:4 – 7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Lord’s Prayer…

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:9-; Uranita Book, 144:3.0)

The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer taught by Jesus and still we all are following this prayer. Every day I pray this prayer after I finish my prayer time with Jesus.

I think we all know by heart this prayer… like anyone can say this even in their sleep. This is an important prayer; this is the only prayer Jesus taught to His people. It has lots of meaning inside it. It contains our daily life and it’s needs.

Our Father in Heaven… Hallowed be your Name.

Calling our Father and praising His name. Acts 4:12 says “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” We are praying to this Father. Remember who is this Father, the one who loves you, the one who gave His own son for you. So when you pray, feel His love for you and submit yourself in front of Him. Maybe you are in your bedroom, or church, or hall, or a street… place doesn’t matter… your submissive mind in front of Him is what all matters. So don’t worry about the place, believe that you are standing in front of Him and look at His kind face and pray.

your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

We are asking Father for His kingdom come here. There are no differences in His kingdom, men/women, rich nor poor, black or white… doesn’t matter. In Father’s eyes, we are His children. All are equal. There is no war, jealousy or anything else, just love. I think maybe there is music in His kingdom. Maybe we all sing songs for Father together.

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him— (1 Corinthians 2:9)

We know very little about His Kingdom. I am sure it will be amazing. That’s why Jesus asked us to pray to Him that His Kingdom and His will come on earth as it is in Heaven. Thy will be done. I think, this is the most important part of the prayer. When I pray, I have so many things to tell Him, finally I will say, “Father, it’s my will that yours be done through me”. Because I know His will is always good for me. We humans only see our present, then we assume that this decision will be good for us. When Father chooses something, there are no assumptions because he can see the present and future so He knows what is good for you. He knows who you are, What you need, and what makes your life meaningful. So if you let Him choose for you, your life will be in safe hands.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

When you pray for something, if you are not getting the answer, believe that Father has a time for everything. Keep praying… still you didn’t get an answer, believe that He has a better plan for you.

Give us today our daily bread.

Praying for our daily bread. I think there are two meaning in this request. One is bread for our human body and another one is bread for our spiritual body.

Jesus said: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? (Matthew 6: 25)

Here He meant, do not worry about tomorrow because through your prayer you already gave those worries to Father. Just believe that He will take care of you and your needs. In the old testament times, He gave food from Heaven…

He rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance. (Psalms 78:24-25)

I would like to share my experience here. When my sister was in college, one day she called me and said, “my friends are coming to our home.” I asked her, when? She said; right now, I said, what? We don’t have anything here, papa is not here so no money. What we do? She said, I can’t do anything, we are waiting at the bus station for the bus. I didn’t know what to do. I said to amma, don’t worry we can do something; give me 5 minutes. I went to my room and prayed to Father on my knees. I said to him that; “Father, they are coming, we don’t have anything to give to them, please help us. Father, you said Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. [Deuteronomy 28:]. Please help us.” Then I went to kitchen and amma was finding some money to buy biscuits. That was not enough. After 5 minutes, I heard my neighbor calling my name. She came to our home with a pot and said, “Angel, we are going to my sister-in-laws house, will come back 3 days later. This is Appam Batter [like pancake]. Take it.” I didn’t know what to say. God heard my prayer and send someone to my home with food. We prepared appam and curry for them and when my neighbor came back I told her about this.

So whatever is our need, just let our Father know… He will take care of it.

The next ONE IS BREAD OF LIFE. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35) We need both of these breads for our life here and for our life in Heaven. Seek Jesus, you will get everything through Him. When you pray for your daily food, don’t forget to pray for the bread for your soul. Feed your inner person every day.

Here The Urantia Book uses “Give us this day our bread for tomorrow;” and inserts a new line: “Refresh our souls with the water of life.” (144:3.7-8) The first makes this prayer a hope for good things to come in the future. I like that addition. And the second asks for God’s favor, to give us courage for whatever lies ahead for us.

And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

This is not that simple. Forgiveness. The Urantia Book says that; God will forgive us even before we asked Him to, but it is only available when you forgive your brother. So When you forgive your brother in the flesh your mind will be free and Father will come to your heart with peace. An angry mind is a burning furnace. Whatever comes to it, it will burn, so you have to let it go from your mind. So forgive… and make your mind free and let Father come in so that you can feel His forgiveness in your soul.

If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14)

And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from the evil one.

This is a prayer for this time. I think temptation is anything which can drag you from your spiritual life. Man and his mind is like a horse without a bridle. It goes wherever it wants. Anger, jealousy, love… all things good and bad things begin from there. Through our spiritual life we are not abolishing these emotions. In order to have a disciplined life we are learning to control them through Jesus’ teachings. So here, in the conclusion of this prayer, Jesus taught us to pray to Father in Heaven to help us from temptations and deliver us from evils of this world. Jesus already knew that these are a part of this world and He knew that we need a bridle and Gospel is that bridle. Put it into your mouth and gave the control over to Jesus, He will guide you to Father in Heaven.

The final verse in The Urantia Book version is “And increasingly make us perfect like yourself.” which is an expression of our spiritual desire to do the Father’s will, that it is my will that His will be done through me. To me it sounds like the kind of thing Jesus would say.

And finally, during Jesus’ time the Jews frequently used a doxology to conclude prayers. A doxology is “an expression of praise to God, especially a short hymn sung as part of a Christian worship service.” “For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, now and forever,” is a doxology Protestant Churches have traditionally added to Jesus’ words while the Catholic Church remains faithful to the Gospel version of the Lord’s prayer. I like these added words… they return the focus back to the Father and our relationship to him as His child as we finish our prayer time.

The Real Gift…… :-)

A child is a gift from our Father in Heaven. So pregnancy is a beautiful gift that Father gives to his children on Earth. I think a child completes man and woman… makes a family more meaningful; isn’t this so?

I am not a mother… but as a child of God I would like to share some good thoughts with you all. If it is meaningful, follow this, otherwise keep praying and be with God.?

When you plan for a child, believe that you are making yourself ready to be a part of creation with the Heavenly Father. Don’t ever think about a child just because your friends or parents keep asking. A child is the most precious gift in your life. It’s a completion of your love with each other. When you have that feeling, make yourself ready. Pray to God.

The Vision

To help you think about your baby just paste beautiful baby pictures on your bedroom wall. My bedroom walls have uplifting Jesus’ quotes. Whenever I read them I feel more comfortable and happy and I feel like, yes, everything will be all right; He is with me. So when you look at those baby pictures you are also starting to dream about your child, it’s smile, how you are going to take care of the baby, her little hands and touch. These thoughts will come to your mind and all these positive feelings will make you more ready to be a mother/father.

Here is a thought thas has guided me; it’s a message for us regarding having positive feelings, for expecting a healthy and a beautiful child like you want, like you dream. We all need a vision about our life, in everything. Desire and dream about it. Absorb the dream with your mind… put your desires at His feet… Let Him choose for you. And remember this verse:
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:11)

The Acceptance

When you get pregnant, feel it as a gift from our Father in Heaven. Be amazed about the baby. Feel him. Pray, and listen to good music, make your mind calm and feel that inner peace. Don’t forget to read the Gospel everyday. Remember Your baby is also hearing it. Find some special time with God. Share your tensions and happiness with Him. Do good but comfortable exercise with your doctor’s advice. And always remember, the life inside is your blood, your breath… the baby feels what you feel… the baby reflects you.
Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. (Psalm 22:9-10)

The Understanding

I think a woman becomes a mother at the time she becomes pregnant. But most of the time men become fathers only after they see their child. So husbands must understand this new change in their life. Husbands, always comfort your wife, always support her, understand her health conditions, take care of her and listen to her problems. This is the time a woman really wants her husband’s presence. Life is busy but always find at least 30 minutes a day for your wife and unborn child. Every day both husband and wife touch her stomach and pray for your baby’s good health and good delivery.
Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3)

The gift

In these days in our hospitals, doctors ask what do you prefer, cesarean or natural birth? Most of them prefer cesarean; because it’s painless. But if natural birth is possible don’t ever choose cesarean. You are thinking about one day’s pain and forgetting about life long side effects. God created woman in this way so we are able to do this. But in some cases, it’s not possible so He also blessed some people to help these woman… they are called doctors. So pray for natural birth and if possible don’t choose cesarean. Back pain is a long term effect from cesarean. You can ask your doctor about this.
When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. (John 16:21)

The Teacher

The creation of new pictures out of old facts, the restatement of parental life in the lives of offspring—these are the artistic triumphs of truth. (48:6.33)

Being a parent is the most difficult duty in the world. But you have to do this because the Father chose you to be with Him to raise His child. Just be a good child for our Father in Heaven and you can be the best parent for your own child. The child is seeing this world through your eyes, so show your child the good things and build the basement of her character; it is in your hands.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Introduce Jesus to your child. Teach him how to pray, and show your personal relationship with the Father so he will try to be like you. Every day pray together with your family. Give a chance to your children to pray and read Part IV of The Urantia Book or the Bible everyday.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)

When your child is facing any difficulties with her studies, pray together. And let her know that Jesus will be there for her. Teach him to be honest and to be thankful to God. He will be the best in everything else.
Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart. (Proverbs 29:17)

These are just my thoughts. I am not asking you to follow this but just to think about this. Your child is your responsibility. Build his character in a good atmosphere. For this, make sure that you are living in Love and Light with Heavenly Father.
Marriage, with children and consequent family life, is stimulative of the highest potentials in human nature and simultaneously provides the ideal avenue for the expression of these quickened attributes of mortal personality. The family provides for the biologic perpetuation of the human species. The home is the natural social arena wherein the ethics of blood brotherhood may be grasped by the growing children. The family is the fundamental unit of fraternity in which parents and children learn those lessons of patience, altruism, tolerance, and forbearance which are so essential to the realization of brotherhood among all men. (84:7.28)

From James…

The Epistle of James is small but the deepest letter of the Bible. It contains some good messages to help us to grow more spiritually. I just read James chapter 1 with my Grandpa and We got some good messages; I would like to share with you..

Before you read and ask God for inspiration, just close your eyes for a second and submit yourself to your Father. Tell Him that, you would like to hear from Him. Ask Him to talk to you. Then open your book and read…

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

Keep Jesus’ words in mind and read… if you look deeply, you will find inspiration and will hear what Father wants to tell you.

1. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1: 2-4)

2. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)

Life on earth is a difficult journey. We all have our own problems and trials. But, each trial teaches us new lessons about life and helps us to know God better. It will always help us to experience His presence more. There are a number of people in history who faced near death experiences and stood strong for God:

Daniel – Daniel was a man full of faith. Whatever happend, his faith never changed from his faith. He did whatever he wanted to do in His faith. The king put him into a lion’s den. Still he didn’t changed his faith, because he believed God will save him and that happend. God Saved him from there and made all people known about Daniel’s living faith in God. He testified his faith through his life.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed’nego – Everybody knows their story. The king put them into a furnace because they refused to worship him. They believed and loved the Father. Their faith provided the result that the Father saved them from the fire.

Remember Matthew 7:14: But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

3. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6)

Have not doubt about anything, just believe that God never leaves you nor forsakes you. Doubt makes us weak in our faith. God is possible with everything and He can do amazing things in your life. Never doubt about His love… When you feel like ‘is it possible’? Just remember about Sarah and Abraham. Father gave them a child when they were 90 and 100. The Father rebuilt their body and made them parents of yjr Israel people. Jesus said; Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11: 24)

4. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. (James 1:13)

Temptation is a fundamental desire to engage in short-term urges for enjoyment, that threatens long-term goals. I think all human beings face temptations in their lives, we all have such urges. The relationship with our Father has a power over such urges. Listen to the Holy spirit and follow Jesus’ messages in daily life. We, the children of God, are not looking just for short term enjoyment, we are looking for an everlasting enjoyment with our Heavenly Father.

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” (Genesis 4:7)

5. Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. (James 1: 19)

Anger is a material manifestation which represents, in a general way, the measure of the failure of the spiritual nature to gain control of the combined intellectual and physical natures. Anger indicates your lack of tolerant brotherly love plus your lack of self-respect and self-control. Anger depletes the health, debases the mind, and handicaps the spirit teacher of man’s soul. (TUB 149:4.2)

Wrath is cruel and anger is outrageous. Do not let anger have control over you. When I feel like I will get angry, usually I go to somewhere else for a couple of minutes because I know anger is not going to do any good for me, so better stop him before he enter into my mind. If you are angry, it is better you don’t talk… just say ‘praise the Lord’ in your mind. Make your mind calm. An angry mind always gives wrong informations and sorts things fast and it will come out before you could stop. So make your mind calm and think again in a peaceful mind before you act.

6. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22)

I think this is the most important part to remember. Listen, then do, and experience the goodness. The Word is information’ Spirit is the teacher, Jesus is the path and Father is the destination. We need the word to know who the Father is and Who we are. Let the Holy spirit be your teacher, because without it you just see the history in the book. With it you will find life and eternity within these words.

If you hear the word, and do not act…you are deceiving yourself. The Word of the God is like a treasure. God gave it to us because He knew that we need this because of our poor lives. Use the treasure and be rich in the Kingdom. Put all teachings in your own life. You may say several ‘NO’s to your present life, but you will find an amazing big true ‘YES’.

The Potter and the Vessel…

I don’t know what you understand from this title. A potter is a creator… a creator of pots, the one who creates beautiful vessels from clay. The Gospel often compares our Father in Heaven to a potter. I like that comparison… I’m the clay… He is the potter.

Yesterday I was thinking about my life and I asked my Father, Father, what do I do? I didn’t get any answer from my own head. So I took my Bible and asked my Father in Heaven to talk to me. I opened the Bible and got Jeremiah 18: 6. It says;

He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Angel. What else do I need more than this? What a wonderful Father we have!

Yet the vessel that he made of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? says the Lord. As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel. (Versea 5-6)

When this potter tried to make a vessel it’s spoiled but he made it again into another vessel. So Father is telling us that, He can do this same with us. Maybe something is not correct in our life, or destroyed… but God is reminding us that He can recreate it to another beautiful and useful one.

But now, O Lord, You are our Father;
we are the clay, and You are our potter;
and we all are the work of Your hand. (Isaiah 64:8)

His plans are different than our plans. Sometimes we rush into something which will become a disaster. So let Him make the plan and you just be patient and follow Him. This is what I used to tell myself. Maybe our life is a mess, just give yourself… just be that clay… He will turn you into a beautiful vessel.

1. Submit yourself to Him… be like that clay.
2. God can do wonderful things in our lives… not just once, again and again.
3. Be patient. There is a time for everything. Even though we messed up things, still He can create a new thing from that old one. So be not worried about anything. Have faith in Him.

We are the clay in His hand. I embrace this verse in my mind Which makes me smile every time. Clay is just a useless thing… people walk on the clay, and sometimes we don’t even touch them because it’s unclean; nobody wants clay in their house. But when a potter creates a beautiful vessel from that clay it will get an important place in the house because it is useful for us. Like this, maybe once we all are clay, the clay of my Father’s Wheel. He is creating us to a beautiful… just be patient until He has finished His work.

Father, it’s my will that yours be done through me. Yes, I want to be that clay in your Hand. Make whatever you want… Thy will be done.
